East City College - Academics

At East City College, we run an academic calendar that goes in accordance with the Lagos State Ministry of Education's Policies and also as stated in the National Policy on Education.

We Ensure that our academic calendar is compressed so that our students can meet up with academic challenges anywhere in the world. As such we in addition to the National curriculum, have embedded subjects and topics that would make our students stand their fit to compete with their counterparts anyewhere in the world.

In view of the aformentioned, there are two cadres that makes up the secondary school. These are:

Junior Secondary School {Year 7 – 9}: This cadre are offered a maximum of 15 subjects as outlined by the State & National Policy on Education. In year 9, students are presented for the Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination (JSCE) at the state level and Basic Certification Examination (BECE) at the federal level. In all, students are offered the following subjects:
